Sad news for cafe dwellers in Joo Chiat— the highly popular bakery cafe, Tigerlily Patisserie, will be shuttering for good on 30 Apr 2024.

The founder of the cafe, Chef Maxine Ngooi, made the announcement via social media on 5 Apr 2024. She thanked the bakery’s customers for their support over the past 4 years, and reflected on the accomplishments she had achieved, including being voted Pastry Chef of the Year at the World Gourmet Awards and being included in Prestige’s list of 40 under 40.

Chef Maxine previously worked in the prestigious Les Amis restaurant, where she was mentored by the renowned pastry chef, Cheryl Koh. Later, she gained experience at multiple Michelin-starred establishments before setting out to open her own bakery.

Tigerlily Patisserie first opened along Joo Chiat Road in 2021, where it quickly amassed a large following in a short period of time.

Before Tigerlily Patisserie closes for good in end April, be sure to head down for your final taste of their famous pastries and bakes. Dig into the all-time favourite entremets, such as the Pistachio Marimo (S$12), a pistachio mousse ball filled with pistachio praline, frangipane and crispy feuilletine, and the Pink Guava & Pear (S$13), a cake made with pink guava cream, jelly and fresh pears.

The signature bake is the The Beehive (S$15), a citrus entremet infused with lemon, thyme and lychee honey jelly, encased within yuzu mousse. For something more classic yet equally as tasty, opt for the Chocolate Hazelnut Tart (S$15)— this multi-layered tart consists of Nocciola del Piemonte Hazelnut praline, Valrhona dark chocolate ganache, milk chocolate cream and a cacao nib tuille finishing.

Cake lovers can opt for a Gateau de Voyage, available in the flavours of Chocolate Raspberry (S$8), Pistachio Apricot (S$9) and Earl Grey (S$7). Be sure to get your final taste of Tigerlily Patisserie soon.
