There’s nothing like live entertainment. Televised performances just can’t compare to the shared laughter and emotions you feel as part of a crowd at live stand-up comedy, musicals and theatre plays.

Here are some of the best comedy, theatre, and stand-up shows happening in Singapore in April 2025. You’re in for a mix of laughs, drama, and thrilling performances.

Theatre Musicals, Plays & Operas

It’s a trifecta of classics and classic characters reimagined in the theatre musicals and operas for April 2025.

1. WICKED The Musical

We watched this recently and found it to be much better than the 2024 film Wicked.

WICKED The Musical peels the curtains back from the Emerald City long before the events of The Wizard of Oz, where the Wicked Witch of the West is a good friend of Glinda, the novel’s Good Witch. Prejudice, power and manipulation are handled intelligently, with love and friendship threaded neatly into the story for a riveting tale.

Transported to 1960s Singapore, Bizet’s Carmen adapts the classic opera with an international cast hailing from France, the Philippines, Singapore, Korea, Malaysia and China. It is performed as a semi-staged opera sung in French (with English & Chinese subtitles) accompanied by the SLO Chorus and SLO Chamber Orchestra.

Running from 12 Apr to 4 May, the Berries Chinese Theatre Festival: Family Edition is a great way to let the little ones absorb a little culture. There are various performances and my recommendation is Day I Met The Prince based on the timeless classic The Little Prince. It plays at 11am and 3pm on Thu, Sat & Sun from 26 Apr – 4 May 2025.

  • Dates: 12 Apr 2025 – 4 May 2025
