On 3 Jun, 2 months after starting business, Uncle Lim’s Diner has finally opened a physical stall at a coffeeshop in Lengkok Bahru. It serves familiar Western comfort dishes ranging from chicken cutlets to pan-seared salmon at hawker prices.

This stall is run by a couple who have been selling these Western-inspired dishes from their home in Woodlands since April 2025. Customers could only place their orders through GrabFood or by contacting Jeremy (Uncle Lim) directly for self-pickup, which made it inaccessible to those living beyond the Woodlands vicinity.

Uncle Lim’s Diner’s very first outlet in Bukit Merah, though still not in a central location, at least allows patrons to feast on warm, freshly cooked meals on the spot.

Even if you’re unfamiliar with the area, it’ll be hard to miss their neon red signboard adorned with a checkered border, reminiscent of an old-school Western diner in the U.S. It’s giving retro, and I love it!

I’m dying to try their Crispy Chicken Cutlet w/ Fries (S$7.90). For this large portion, in this economy? Bang for your buck indeed. The cutlet comes with a generous portion of marie rose aioli on top, which is essentially a more atas version of your mayochup (mayonnaise + ketchup).

How often can you find salmon in a kopitiam? At Uncle Lim’s Diner, the Pan-seared Salmon (S$12.50) comes with home-made Coleslaw and your choice of side between Fries, Pilaf Rice, Aglio Olio and Mashed Potatoes, all at the same price.

Don’t overlook their sides either, especially the Nacho Chips (S$6.50) and Fries Grande (S$6), which come with Uncle Lim’s home-made Guacamole.

Students in the area, let this be your next after-school lunch fix! Simply flash your student ID to redeem 10% off your meal. Not a student? Uncle Lim’s S$5 Chicken Wing w/ Pilaf Rice budget meal is your best bud.

Head down to support Uncle Lim’s Diner’s opening for XL chicken cutlets and an old-school retro vibe!
