Do you work at the Central Business District (CBD) and get your daily coffee fix from Sunrise Traditional Coffee & Toast? If you answered yes, then you have roughly 3 more weeks to support this 22-year-old establishment before it shuts down for good.

The owners, Mr. and Mrs. Teo, have been dedicated to their craft since 2003, when they first opened their doors at the Market Street Hawker in the Golden Shoe Carpark. Then in 2017, the place was demolished and the couple went over to the Interim Market Street Hawker at Telok Ayer, where they operated until 2022. When CapitaSpring finally swung its doors to the public and Market Street Hawker Centre was launched, they shifted for the second time.

Sunrise Traditional Coffee & Toast’s menu spans over 60 different varieties of Hot, Iced, and Ice Blended beverages. Some unique choices include hot Horlicks + Kopi (S$2.60), hot Almond (S$1.60), and Ice Blended Bandung (S$2). Food-wise, you can also have a quick breakfast fix with over 10 types of buns and dim sum such as Braised Pork Bun (S$1.20), Pork Siew Mai (S$0.80 per piece), Otah Bun (S$1.40), and Fan Choy (S$2).

Back in Dec 2023, the couple’s daughter announced on Facebook that the stall was closed till further notice due to Mrs Teo’s health. Then recently on 30 Aug 2025, the daughter posted an announcement stating that the stall will permanently close at the end of September. While few details were shared, the Teos wanted to express their deep gratitude for all the love and unwavering support they have received from their customers over the past 22 years.

The hope is that her parents are simply retiring for good, and that this closure isn’t due to health issues (touch wood). If you love their Coffee Powder (S$8.50 for 0.5kg, S$16 for 1kg), you’ll be glad to know that it’s available for sale on Shopee and Lazada. You can even self-collect it at Woodlands. Do support them if you can!
We at Sethlui.com wish Mr and Mrs Teo all the best.
