This marks the sambal’s 1st international debut, made possible through Grab Signatures Private Label — a programme that transforms restaurant favourites into ready-to-enjoy retail products.

Past collaborations include KFry, Inside Scoop, and KGB. Created in partnership with Village Park Restaurant, this particular launch celebrates a homegrown Malaysian success story that’s crossing borders without losing its signature spice.

While already a hot spot among locals and tourists alike, the restaurant’s popularity among Singaporeans soared even further after local influencer Darshen posted a viral video praising its signature dish just 8 months ago.

“Singaporeans travelling to Kuala Lumpur often make a pit stop at Village Park for their famous nasi lemak,” said Grab’s Chuen Jein Tay.

“Now, chilli-lovers can enjoy the same sambal in their own kitchens, pairing it with home-cooked meals. Through our partnership with FairPrice, we’re making it possible for everyone to enjoy a dish that has become a Malaysian classic — right here at home.”

For Village Park, the launch represents a full-circle moment. What started as a humble family-run eatery in 2003 has grown into a Malaysian household name. Loved for its crispy fried chicken and sambal with just the right sting, Village Park continues to become the nation’s favourite.

With its entry into Singapore, Village Park’s sambal continues to prove that good food travels well — especially when it brings a little heat along for the ride.
