Most people associate the end of the year as prime time for spring cleaning, where you clean out the old to usher in the new. Hawkers and eateries follow this tradition too, with one such place being Le Thai Mookata in LC Food Centre, which will close on 20 Jan 2026 to accommodate renovation works.

The news was first broken via a post on Le Thai Mookata’s Facebook page. In it, the mookata stall informed their loyal customers that they would be temporarily closing for renovation works from 20 Jan to 22 Feb 2026. They also asked customers to come down and support them before the shutters go down for a period.

Thankfully, they will still be open during the Christmas and New Year’s season, so you can enjoy some mookata together with your family!

Le Thai Mookata is not an easy place to find, as it is within an industrial food court, which has definitely turned some heads. Yes, you can find good food in industrial food courts, too. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill concrete industrial food court, as they have charming umbrellas set up outside. The evening breeze is strong, but the mookata is stronger.

There are so many options for mookata sets, but the main 2 are the Twin Platter for 2 (S$28) and the Family Platter for 4 (S$48), with soup base options like Tom Yum, Mala, and Lemongrass, all of which cost S$3. All sets come with a bountiful variety of meats, such as Pork Collar (S$2.50), Pork Belly (S$2.50), and Chicken (S$2.50).

Of course, you can grab toppings by themselves. Indulge in some scrumptious seafood like Prawns (S$5.50) and Salmon (S$4.90). There’s even the option to add a 180g Sirloin Meltique Beef Steak (S$18), which is an insane addition. If you’re not in a mookata mood, don’t worry! They have regular dining options with their Basil Minced Pork Rice with Egg ($5.80), which is a crowd favourite.

Le Thai Mookata will close for renovations on 20 Jan 2026 and reopen on 23 Feb 2026. Make sure to head down and support them!
