South Korea’s first-ever burger chain Lotteria has officially landed in our Lion City, opening the doors of its inaugural Singaporean outlet on 11 Feb. Some of us at Sethlui.com managed to drop by for an early taste; keep reading to find out what you should order when you visit.

Lotteria Singapore opens - Jewel Changi Airport

Located at Basement 1 of Jewel Changi Airport, the new burger restaurant stands out, with its warmly lit signs and bright red exterior. The seating area is also located close to the Jewel Rain Vortex, creating a comfortable yet unique dining experience.

Now, for the main event – the food. What surprised me about Lotteria’s menu is that the prices are quite reasonable and not as high as I expected. Burger sets that come with fries and a drink range between S$7.20 and S$15.80, without any upsize.

Lotteria Singapore opens - Keycap Keychain Blind Bag

Speaking about upsize — customers who visit Lotteria on its first 3 days of opening from 11 to 13 Feb will get a free upsize to their meals. With every Combo Set purchase, you will also receive a free Keycap Keychain Blind Bag, Red Packets and an exclusive Sticker Pack. The Keycap Keychain is not just an ordinary clicker, but lights up too! Grab all these while stocks last.

While I found the Burger sets priced fairly, chickens and sides, on the other hand, are on the pricier end. For instance, a Chicken set can go up to S$19 if you opt for 4 pieces of Gangjung Chicken with fries and a drink.

We managed to try the signature Ria’s Bulgogi Burger (S$7.20 a la carte), the Singapore-exclusive Kimchi Bulgogi Burger (S$7.80 a la carte) and the iconic Mozzarella Tomato Basil Burger (S$12.50 a la carte). We also had a side of 2-piece Gangjung Chicken (S$9 a la carte), 1 Long Cheese Stick (S$2.80) and Shake Shake Fries (S$5.20).

The highlight for us would have to be the Mozzarella Tomato Basil Burger, with its double-patty goodness. The juicy beef patty paired with the rich mozzarella-filled patty, layered with an appropriate amount of tomato basil sauce, created a heavenly combination for our taste buds.

The Shake Shake Fries with 3 different seasoningsOnion, Cheese and Mexican Chilli were also tasty. None of the seasonings particularly stood out, though, so which one you favour would highly depend on personal preference.

If your budget allows, you should also go for the Gangjung Chicken. And don’t worry if you can’t take spice; it is more of a sweet sauce and is not spicy at all, even for someone with low spice tolerance like me.

Lotteria Singapore opens - Cup Bingsu

Lastly, if you have a sweet tooth, there are multiple dessert options at Lotteria, too! If you want to grab an ice cream on the go, try their Soft Cone (S$1.50). Want something more interesting? Grab a Cup Bingsu (S$5.90).

We did have a taste of the latter, and while we enjoyed it for the most part, it did not particularly match what a bingsu is in our minds. That is probably due to the texture of the ice being more “crushed” rather than “shaved”. Still, I liked the ice cream, fruits and red bean combination.

All in all, Lotteria is definitely worth the visit, especially if you are passing through Jewel or the airport. The only potential problem is — can you beat the crowd?
