Things to do in Singapore in March 2026

After a short but exciting month of February filled with festivities and events, it is time to march into a new month. With school holidays and another public holiday coming up, March is definitely worth looking forward to. Keep reading for some things to do!

1. Watch the Total Lunar Eclipse

Calling all astronomy fans and space enthusiasts! A Total Lunar Eclipse will occur on 3 Mar, between 7.47pm and 9.17pm. This rare phenomenon coincidentally falls on the 15th day of the Chinese New Year this year and will not take place again until the end of 2028.

If you don’t want to miss it, be sure to set a reminder to look up at the sky at night. At the same time, Science Centre Singapore is also hosting a free live viewing for those who want the best view of the Blood Moon. High-powered telescopes will be available for use on a first-come, first-served basis. If you’re interested, make sure to book a slot here.

2. Explore Exploria

If you’re wondering what you’re looking at in the photo above, that’s not a moon. That is the centrepiece of Mandai Wildlife Reserve’s latest indoor immersive attraction, Exploria. Spanning 10,000 square metres with 5 realms to explore, this new experience is one of Southeast Asia’s largest multimedia attractions.

For those of you who want to see parts of nature that you can’t normally see, this is for you. Some of us got the opportunity to visit Exploria early and were surprised by what we experienced. Exploria will officially open on 3 Mar and will be open daily, from 11am to 8pm on weekdays and 11am to 9pm on weekends. Tickets are priced at S$38 for adults and S$28 for children and students.

3. Bring out your inner softie at IKEA

If you’ve ever been on the Internet lately, you would have seen it flooded with clips of everybody’s favourite baby monkey, Punch. This adorable macaque that has caught the attention and hearts of many can always be found with an orangutan plushie as its companion. And this now iconic plushie is actually the Djungelskog (S$19.90) soft toy from IKEA.

As of the writing of this article, the plushie is sold out at all IKEA outlets in Singapore. However, IKEA is in the process of restocking these soft toys and is even hosting giveaways when they are back in stock. If you haven’t gotten your hands on one of these orangutans and would like to participate, check out this Instagram post. 

Not interested in being a softie but would rather have a soft serve? It is also a good time to visit IKEA to try out their new Oat Vanilla Ice Cream Cone (S$0.50). I’m personally a fan of the oat flavour, so I will definitely want to have one of these. And besides, where else can you find a nice ice cream cone for 50 cents in 2026?

4. Visit the NATAS Travel Fair 2026

Would you rather fly to Japan to see Punch for yourself? Consider planning your next overseas trip at the NATAS Travel Fair 2026. Taking place from 27 to 29 Mar at Singapore Expo Halls 4 and 5, this is Singapore’s largest travel fair of the year.

6. Experience ‘Les Misérables The Arena Spectacular World Tour’

Musical fans, there is something special for you in March, too. The longest-running musical in the world, ‘Les Misérables’, is stopping by Singapore for a limited time. And this time, it is part of their ‘Les Misérables The Arena Spectacular World Tour’, celebrating 40 years of its epic story and songs. 

‘Les Misérables’ was actually the first musical I ever watched in person a decade ago and I still have fond memories. The classic tale about dreams and redemption, paired with moving songs like ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ and ‘One Day More’, is a must-watch. 

The musical, which will return to Singapore from 24 Mar to 10 May, features a spectacular production with an exciting new design specifically created for larger venues. The cast and orchestra also have 65 members, delivering powerhouse performances.

7. Shop at IT Show 2026

8. Catch the start of the 2026 F1 season

The 2026 Formula 1 (F1) season is about to begin with the year’s first Grand Prix, set to take place in Australia. If you are a fan of racing, you’ve got to watch F1, and especially this year, because there are new teams, regulations and car models being introduced.

9. Try Lotteria

If you are a fan of fast food (and let’s be honest, many of us are), there’s a new and fresh option that has just landed on our shores. And you can try it by taking a trip to the new Lotteria at Jewel Changi Airport! 

The South Korean burger chain recently opened its first outlet in Singapore, bringing with it an exciting menu of burgers, chicken, sides and desserts. Unique options include Mozzarella Tomato Basil Burger (S$12.50 a la carte), Shake Shake Fries (S$5.20), Long Cheese Sticks (S$2.80) and Cup Bingsu (S$5.90).

10. Drop by Geylang Serai

One of the best parts of living in Singapore is experiencing the range of vibrant festivals celebrated throughout the year. And from February to March, we get to experience back-to-back celebrations with the Chinese New Year and Hari Raya. 

Currently, we are already in the midst of the Ramadan month, which will culminate in Hari Raya Puasa on 21 Mar. That means you can expect Hari Raya light-ups, decorations and bazaars in many places across Singapore.

But if there is an iconic area you must visit in this time period, it is Geylang Serai. The beautiful street lights and the yearly Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar are already up and running, welcoming visitors to bask in the festive atmosphere. 

The bazaar, which has more than 500 stalls, is open daily from 10am to midnight, with opening hours extending to 6am on the night of 20 Mar – 21 Mar.

11. Admire Sakura at Flower Dome

Didn’t manage to book a trip to Japan in time, but still want to see the beautiful cherry blossoms? Good news – you can do so at Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay from 13 Mar to 15 Apr. The Sakura event will allow you to walk through areas reminiscent of Ishikawa, from kimono forests to historic samurai districts.

Not only will you be able to admire sakura trees, but you will also be able to appreciate the prefecture’s rich heritage. At the same time, you will spot Sanrio characters like Hello Kitty and Cinnamoroll along the way. 

If you’re interested, gather some friends, bring along a camera and make sure to book a slot in advance.
