If you’re a fan of restaurant-quality hawker food, especially Western food, you’ve probably heard of Reverie, a viral Western stall that opened at Clementi in Jan 2026. Those who find Reverie too far away may want to visit Reuben’s at Kallang Bahru instead.

The coffeeshop stall, which opened on 1 Jul 2026, is a venture by Reuben Koh, a former co-founder of Reverie. Reuben left Reverie in Apr and now offers similar Western fare at Reuben’s.
Reuben’s may be new, but business has been really steady. When I visited the stall with my family last week, we were told our order would take 30 minutes to prepare. That’s insane!
What to order at Reuben’s
Since we were a large group, we decided to order a variety of dishes: Broccolini (S$8), Carbonara (S$14), Miso Salmon (S$24), Chicken Parmigiana (S$14) and Roasted Chicken (S$16).
Our food finally arrived after a 40-minute wait and we began the feast

We started with the Broccolini, a cross-breed of traditional broccoli and Chinese broccoli. The dish was presented on a rectangular plate filled with hazelnuts, a generous amount of buttery sauce, and shredded cheese.

Although the sauce was a little too salty for my liking, I was impressed that the stem was cooked just right. Often, vegetables with long stems become really difficult to bite, but that wasn’t an issue here.

Next up for review was the Carbonara, which came with chunky pieces of bacon. I personally found it too fatty and salty, but my brother and dad enjoyed its satisfying chew.

The sauce hit the perfect amount of creaminess and cheesiness, and I enjoyed the al dente, slightly peppery spaghetti. Overall, it was a decent plate of pasta, but nothing mind-blowing.

The Miso Salmon, which came with mashed potato and grilled corn, was my favourite.

The pink-orange salmon was soft and tender, and accompanied by crunchy onions. The miso sauce at the bottom added a Japanese touch to the dish, but I would have preferred something milder.

Despite that, I enjoyed grilled corn, which had a smoky, charred flavour, and the creamy, buttery mashed potato, which had a consistent smoothness.

When I heard the pleasant crackling sound from the Chicken Parmigiana upon cutting it, my hunger level instantly shot up. I tucked into the dish, and the crunch was so satisfying.

While some parts of the chicken were not as crispy as I expected, it was still a great dish. I enjoyed the salad and the sauce used wasn’t too sour. There were also French fries accompanying the dish to indulge us.
The chicken was topped with tomato puree and melted cheese, but even my dad — a tomato hater — declared this as his favourite dish!

Finally, we had the Roasted Chicken, a half chicken accompanied by mashed potatoes and fries. Usually, what I hate about eating roasted chicken is the tiring process of cutting it, but I didn’t have to do that here since the chicken was already cut for us.

The chicken was firm and well-seasoned, with a mild herbal flavour on its exterior. However, the chicken wasn’t as succulent as I hoped — it seemed a little drier and more difficult to bite.
Who Reuben’s is best for?

If you prefer stronger flavours in your dishes and enjoy a wide menu variety, Reuben’s is the spot for you! They may be known for Western fare, but you’ll get to explore a Korean or Japanese twist in some of their dishes as well.
How to get to Reuben’s

The nearest MRT station to Reuben’s is Geylang Bahru (DT24). Head for Exit A and walk for roughly 6 minutes to First Eating House Pte Ltd at Block 66 Kallang Bahru, #01-473. Reuben’s is located at Stall 5 within the coffeeshop.
Do we recommend Reuben’s?
Yes, we do! Reuben’s may be pricier than other hawker stalls, but it remains relatively more affordable than restaurants serving a similar quality of Western fare. If you don’t mind waiting for good food, Reuben’s is worth a try!
