For the next 3 weeks, Singapore residents who are living around Clementi West and Toa Payoh Lorong 7 may want to patronise their favourite wet market or hawker stall more. That’s because from 14 Sep 2026, West Coast Market Square and Kim Keat Palm Market & Food Centre will be undergoing 3 months of Repairs and Redecoration (R&R) works.
Known formerly as West Coast Market and Food Centre, West Coast Market Square has been around since the 1980s and is home to about 60 hawker stalls and 135 market shops.
Some popular stalls here include 88 Chicken Rice which sells Chicken Rice starting from S$4. Many netizens praise this stall to the skies, calling it one of the best around for its generous portions, great flavour, and friendly owners. There’s Soon Lee Fishball Noodles serving traditional old-school Teochew-style fishball noodles manned by an elderly uncle.
Open just 4 days a week, Hani Food Hall has been operating since 1981 and serves crowd-favourites like Nasi Lemak (S$5) and Mee Rebus (S$3.50).
Situated within the neighbourhood of Toa Payoh Lorong 7 lies Kim Keat Palm Market & Food Centre, which was established in 1970. You can find all sorts of local delights amongst its 61 hawker stalls and 59 market stalls.
Some notable stalls here include the Hai Nan Xing Zhou Beef Noodle, which was awarded a Bib Gourmand in the 2026 Michelin Guide. Singapore. Prices of their beef noodles start from S$6 for the Sliced Beef + Beef Ball.
Perpetually drawing a long line of customers, Min Kee Tanjong Rhu Wanton Noodle serves solid plates of Wanton Noodle (S$3.50/S$4.50) and Dumpling Noodle (S$4/S$5). For wallet-friendly plates of cai fan, Lai Heng never fails to attract crowds with its delicious plates of homecooked goodness.
