Golden Mile Food Centre isn’t a stranger to any Singaporean, whether or not you consider yourself a foodie. Their mammoth variety of cuisines and food offerings has seen a fairly new addition—Abang Dol, a halal-certified hawker stall that serves bowls of our favourite comfort food, prawn noodles.

The Prawn Noodles are available in two sizes, Small (S$3.80) and Regular (S$5.80). It might remind you of Chinese-style prawn noodles which features an umami-rich broth, though Abang Dol has both soup and dry options for you to choose from.

You can pick your noodle, which will then be topped with fresh, large prawns, sliced fishcake, kang kong, and beansprouts. If you’re a fan of dry noodles like I am, they’ll come served with Abang Dol’s special homemade spicy sauce for that extra kick of flavour.

There’s also an option for Butter Chicken Cutlet Rice (S$5.80 for regular, S$7.80 for upsized), which features a sizeable portion of basmati rice served alongside a crispy chicken cutlet deep-fried to golden brown perfection, drenched with Abang Dol’s homemade butter chicken gravy and topped with crispy papadum.

The menu at Abang Dol also features a traditional Malay staple—Mee Soto (S$4.60), with springy yellow noodles with savoury chicken soup, beansprouts, and begedil. They also offer a version Without Begedil that’ll set you back S$3.80, and it’s all up to you to decide.
