Could you imagine a Singapore without hawker centres? *Shudder* Hopefully, such a day will never arrive, thanks to a young generation of hawkers willing to take up the challenge of running a stall. Among them are the owners and operators of Aw’s Signature Minced Pork Noodle at Tanglin Halt Market.

Aw’s Signature Minced Pork Noodle certainly has a memorable name. The young hawker couple behind the counter started serving this classic Teochew dish just yesterday, 27 Feb 2023. Their Facebook page declares them “A Gen-Yper wishing to serve the public with cheap food” (sic). Hey, cheap food is always right up our alley.

As you can see from the photos, we aren’t the only ones. There seems to be no shortage of takers for their fare.

Taking a closer look at their menu, we found there to be a nice range of dishes for diverse tastes. Another thing we noticed was that the cheapest options cost just S$3.50 and that there are 2 of them. That’s not very common nowadays are will probably be quite a draw for this new hawker stall.

The Minced Pork Noodles (S$3.50) aren’t necessarily small for the price, either. The other economical option is the Handmade Fishball Noodles (S$3.50).

Top of the range is their Signature Noodles (S$5.50). A bowl of this comes with pork balls, minced pork, fish dumplings, mock abalone dipped in pork broth, and spinach. You can have your bowl with beehoon, kway teow, yellow noodles or rice. Also priced the same is their Braised Pork with Curry Chicken Rice (S$5.50).

Aw’s Signature Minced Pork Noodle has been doing roaring business on their first 2 days. We can’t wait to get our hands on their fare and do a full review. Look out for it.
