Get ready, popcorn lovers! The Bring-Your-Own-Container (BYOC) event is making a grand return at Cathay Cineplex JEM on 4 Sep 2024 from 1pm to 6pm. This one-day-only special is your chance to fill up your own container with Cathay’s delicious Signature Caramel Popcorn.

Here’s how it works: bring your own food-grade container, purchase a Medium Popcorn Combo, and fill up your container with as much popcorn as it can hold, up to 3kg.

Last year, Cathay Cineplex at Ang Mo Kio Hub hosted a similar event which pulled in 100 moviegoers who brought all sorts of creative containers. This year, it’s your turn to join the fun!

On 4 Sep, head down to Cathay Cineplex JEM and present your clean, approved container to receive a queue number for admission. Make sure your container adheres to the guidelines and is clean (health is wealth!).

Approved containers include PP storage boxes, plastic food containers, and non-fragile cookware like rice cookers and steel pots. Containers like bags, trash cans, vases, or glass pots won’t be accepted.

Head to the Cinesnax counter between 1pm and 6pm with your queue number and purchase a Medium Popcorn Combo. Then, watch as your container is filled with their Signature Caramel Popcorn! You’ll get a medium popcorn and a regular soda to enjoy.

Do note that the event is limited to the first 150 redemptions and only 1 container will be allowed per transaction, per customer. The maximum weight of the Signature Caramel Popcorn will be capped at 3kg, and container approval is at the discretion of the staff. Click here to see the list of approved containers.

Even if you have to flip your whole house upside down, start looking for your container of choice to enjoy some sweet caramel-coated popcorn. It’ll be worth it, trust me!
