Sawadee Singapore! For the first time outside Thailand, Bangkok’s Chatuchak Market will be coming to Singapore for three months from February – May 2020.

Held at The Grandstand in Bukit Timah, the event is set to house hundreds of vendors, both local and from Thailand, selling a mix of food and beverages, handicrafts, fashion, and home decorations. There are even stalls providing services like haircuts and manicures under one roof!

Expect more than 200 stalls of street food, retail, and services to explore. Don’t be surprised if they change every time you head over, as the stalls will be rotated weekly due to immense demand.

In order for locals to enjoy the event to the maximum, the market also has up to 400 seats for you to grab a beer whilst enjoying your meals after a long day of shopping—the ultimate Thai  way to spend a chill evening with your family and friends.

Throughout these three months, visitors who drive into The Grandstand will get to enjoy free parking. If you don’t drive or you’re afraid of the long wait at the parking lots, there will also be shuttle services that will take you to the doorstep of the market.

I personally love Chatuchak Market and never fail to visit it every time I am in Bangkok. There’s just something special about the place which draws me back time and time again. It could be the atmosphere, it could be the smiles on the faces of the vendors—I hope that we will also experience this when Chatuchak Market comes to Singapore next year!

So, my fellow Singaporeans, here’s our chance to experience Chatuchak Market with a unique local twist. Just be ready to fight the crowd and pray for good weather.
