The Cheong Fun Paradise hawker stall was opened in Ang Mo Kio by ex-Shang Palace Head Chef Ms Kerene Cheng in 2021, after she left her job as the head chef of the Shangri-La Hotel restaurant.

The stall sells affordable dishes like their famous Chee Cheong Fun in variations like Char Siew (S$3.50), Prawn (S$4) and Sesame Sauce (S$2.40).

Though business started slow, Cheong Fun Paradise soon gained a massive surge in popularity, with customers queueing up to three hours for a taste of Chef Kerene’s dim sum dishes.

Despite the success and popularity of Cheong Fun Paradise, which has only been in business for a year, Chef Kerene has decided to close the stall. Her sister, Ms Pelaris Cheng, announced the cessation of the stall’s operations in a Facebook post, citing manpower issues as the reason behind the closure.

In the meantime, Ms Pelaris states that Chef Kerene will be taking a break, and hopes that netizens will support her if she decides to reopen her business again in the future.
