If you’re a Chipotle fan and have been keeping up with news on the brand, you may know that Chipotle Mexican Grill was supposed to open its first Singapore outlet in 2026.
Well, after some waiting, the popular Mexican-inspired fast-casual chain has finally confirmed that its first Singapore restaurant will open in 2027, hooray!
Chipotle opened its first restaurant in Asia at Seocho-gu, Seoul, South Korea, on 2 Sep 2026. The store opened in partnership with Sangmidang Holdings.
The 2 companies will partner up again to bring Chipotle to Singapore. Sangmidang Holdings is behind several other familiar names in Singapore, such as Paris Baguette, Shake Shack and Eggslut.
“Chipotle offers a distinctive dining experience centred on choice, quality and the freedom for every guest to create a meal that reflects their individual tastes. We are proud to introduce the brand to Asia and committed to delivering the authentic Chipotle experience our guests expect,” said Hee-soo Hur, President, Chief Vision Officer (CVO) of Sangmidang Holdings.
Chipotle is famed for its customisable Mexican-inspired menu, where diners can build their own burritos, bowls, tacos, quesadillas and salads. The menu features ingredients such as rice, beans, meat, cheese, salsa and guacamole. Customers can create their own meals to their exact preferences.
Plus, the restaurant prepares its food freshly throughout the day with real ingredients that contain zero artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, according to the company.
Given Chipotle has over 4,200 restaurants worldwide, I am excited to see what the hype is about when it finally arrives in Singapore.
However, there are still no details on where Chipotle will open its first Singapore outlet. The restaurant has yet to announce the exact opening date, menu and pricing as well. We’ll keep our eyes out for more updates.
