Christmas is a time for belting along to Mariah Carey, spending time with loved ones and of course, indulging in all the Christmas feasts. Nothing is better than seeing a table adorned with plump roasted turkeys that are flanked by delectable rounds of ham and pretty-as-a-picture log cakes. The only thing that can make it better is if that table is yours.
Forget the stress of making reservations, wading through the throngs of people and sitting uncomfortably for two hours. Then, festive catering and takeaways are the secrets to having a relaxing and joyful Christmas.
To help you be the Martha Stewart of Christmas hosts (without breaking a sweat too), here are 11 festive catering and takeaways for the Christmas party that will surely be the talk of the town.
One of the best parts of Christmas has to be all the glorious feasting. I’m talking hunky legs of ham, creamy mashed potatoes and finger-licking roasts. Just thinking about it has got my tummy rumbling. With that said, no one does Christmas like Morganfield’s.
If you’ve ever heard of Morganfield’s, then you’ll know about their signature Sticky Bones (S$27.90 half slab, S$44.90 full slab). These old-fashioned ribs are everything you’ll want your ribs to be.
Prime pork ribs that are slow-cooked and smoked till they are tender, mouth-watering perfection. That’s not all, these babies are then basted with a sweet and tangy hickory flavoured barbecue sauce. That’s right—it’s time to leave your diet at the door.
There’s more where that came from. Morganfield’s Christmas Delivery Menu is where you can transform your table into a meat extravaganza. Not only is it hassle-free, but this Christmas takeaway menu is also a shoo-in for meat-lovers.
One item you can look forward too is Morganfield’s Roast Beef Ribeye (S$189.90+). As one of the many crowning jewels of the Morganfield’s Christmas menu, this succulent and savoury roast will make you host/hostess of the year for sure.
Other highlights from Morganfield’s Christmas Delivery menu would be their Barbeque Beef Rib (Whole Rack) (S$179.90+). These hefty ribs are definitely something you wouldn’t mind getting your hands dirty for.
Another quintessential item that you have to include on your Christmas table has to be the Orange Marmalade Glazed Whole Gammon Ham (S$149.90+). This features a whole hock of ham that is lovingly covered with a sticky orange marmalade glaze, doesn’t that just sound fantastic?
Christmas is definitely time to spend with your loved ones and you certainly shouldn’t be stressed over what to eat. Morganfield’s Christmas Menu is great for cosy family gatherings or even corporate Christmas parties. Whatever the festive party, you know you’ll have a good time with Morganfield’s.
Morganfield’s Christmas delivery menu is available for pick-up or delivery, from 11 November 2019 to 1 January 2020. Just a note, there is a delivery charge of S$25 per location and free delivery for orders above S$300.
To make this festive season truly joyous, you can enjoy a 10% early bird savings for orders placed before 8 December 2019. Remember to use the code, SETH10 to activate enjoy your discount! Place your Christmas order on Morganfield’s website here so you won’t miss out on a splendid Christmas.

If you can’t get enough of mala then Stamford Catering will make this Christmas a tongue-numbingly good one. Their Sze Chuan Mala Roasted Turkey With Chicken Stuffing (S$105.93) is one of their more innovative turkey creations this year.
An excellent pairing of spice and traditional Christmas fare, this 4.5 to 5kg turkey is marinated in a proprietary Sze Chuan Mala marinade of chilli peppers and peppercorns.
While I did think that those potent peppercorns might have been a little too strong, Stamford Catering has utilised these intense flavours to their advantage, allowing the peppercorns to infuse the turkey with a subtle mala taste instead—good news for spice novices I’m sure.
Nothing beats a good ol’ mac and cheese and Stamford Catering’s Triple Cheese Turkey Mac And Cheese (S$41.73) takes the cake.

The Christmas feast at Tablescape is where you can find takeaways the boast variety and flavour.
A little unconventional but still just as tasty would be the Oven Baked Line Caught Fish (S$168). This is no ordinary fish, and is prepared in the much-loved Italian style known as ‘Acqua Pazza’.
Literally translated as ‘crazy water’, this wild fish is prepared with garlic, capers, white wine cherry tomatoes, and black olives for a flavour that’s sweetly and delicately redolent of the ocean.
A much lighter alternative for those who don’t want to sink into that inevitable food coma.
However, if you still need your roasted meats for Christmas, fret not, Tablescape has a pretty good selection of meats that will keep you satiated. The tender and succulent Whole Pork Belly Roulade (S$246) will satisfy your craving for sure. The roasted spiced pineapple not only tenderises the pork but also adds a complexity to the roulade.
Of course, Tablescapes still offers traditional Roasted Turkey (S$168) and Prime Ribs With Garlic And Rosemary (S$168) for all the purists out there.
The Festive Takeaway menu and catering service are available from 28 November 2019 to 5 January 2020. Just take note, takeaway items require five working days notice. You can pick your festive treats from Tablescape between 11 am to 7 pm.
As the self-declared dessert fiend, I think it would be remiss not include entries dedicated to desserts. That being said, Awfully Chocolate never fails to dazzle during the Christmas season.
This year for the Christmas collection, the highlights include The Christmas Black Forest Cake (S$108), a 2019 exclusive with hand-torched Italian meringue, draped over layers of moist chocolate cake with kirsch cream, chocolate fudge, as well as kirsch-infused dark, pitted cherries and French sour cherries.
The cake was unbelievably moist and tender, with sweet cherries that were plump and juicy while the meringue provided an interesting texture to the usual black forest cake.
Another seasonal special that you can’t miss is the Bread Pudding Chocolate Cake (S$88), a unique rendition of the usual Christmas bread pudding bread.
Here you get moist layers of chocolate cake between layers of soft crème patisserie and milk-soaked bread stuffed with plump, juicy raisins. This will surely be a hit with bread pudding lovers.
If don’t get anything from Awfully Chocolate, I urge you to get the Christmas Log Cake (S$88). A true chocoholic’s dream with perfect layers of rich and fudgy chocolate in between light and airy chocolate sponge. A chocolate log cake for the ages.
Awfully Chocolate’s Christmas Collection is available now at all stores, while online purchases come with free delivery with minimum spending of S$150.
