Toss to good fortune in the year ahead with their 金牛贺春团圆鲍鱼捞起 Reunion Yusheng with Abalone, available for both dine-in and takeaway from Crystal Jade Hong Kong Kitchen, Jiang Nan and LMXLB (S$58 small for five pax, S$88 large for eight pax), and complete the opulence of your reunion meal with 黄金万两 (南瓜蟹肉虾球汤) Braised Pumpkin Thick Soup With Steamed Egg White, Prawn and Crab Meat (Egg White) that’s both luxurious and comforting in equal measure—with a layer of smooth steamed egg white covered with a hearty thick soup rendered from a robust chicken stock and blended pumpkin. Available only at Crystal Jade Dining IN at VivoCity.
If you’re looking to truly elevate your CNY meal, may we suggest the 脆米酱皇烤爱尔兰鸭 Roasted Irish Duck With Crispy Rice in Chef’s Special Sauce (Available at Crystal Jade Golden Palace & Dining IN)? It’s an irresistible poultry dish that’ll get you hooked on its crackling goodness. Should you prefer an intimate stay-home meal instead, you can’t miss out on 荷叶香芋瑶柱腊味糯米飯 Fried Conpoy & Taro Glutinous Rice Wrapped in Lotus Leaf as it’s Crystal Jade’s latest addition to this year’s CNY festive takeaway goodies. It promises a rich and savoury presentation of tender chicken pieces, conpoy, as well as fluffy cubes of taro.
For the best start to the Year of the Ox, dine with Crystal Jade and make the most of your precious reunion time over one of the most indulgent meals.
Well-known for their casual Japanese fare, Ichiban Boshi brings a Japanese influence to this year’s CNY festivities. To complement your stay-home smörgåsbord, Citi is extending up to S$30 off Ichiban Boshi’s festive delicacies on their e-store with minimum spends, from 13 January to 24 February 2021:
Citi cardmembers need only use the above promo codes to enjoy the limited-time savings, and you’ll be off enjoying a scrumptious meal with your loved ones! Unmissable highlights include their signature Salmon Yuzu YuSheng with Norwegian Salmon Sashimi and the refreshing 6 Treasures Fruits YuSheng, overflowing with six different kinds of fresh fruits. Let the wealth pour in with a sweet, tangy lava of yuzu dressing, making this yusheng a unique addition to the celebrations.
For a moreish accompaniment, their Japanese Treasure Pot will delight with a hearty serving of abalone, sashimi-grade scallops from Hokkaido, prawns, snow crab leg meat, and shiitake mushrooms—delicately crowned with flecks of gold leaves. This dish is certainly fit for a king.
While we can’t travel to Japan right now, we definitely can enjoy the best of what Ichiban Boshi has to offer this Lunar New Year.
Nestled at a corner of Orchard Road, far from the hustle and bustle of the area’s mainstay is Goodwood Park Hotel, a stalwart hotelier that has been around for as long as I can remember. This Lunar New Year, Goodwood Park Hotel serves up unique and innovative takeaway offerings for Citi cardmembers, reminiscent of their Christmas spread in 2020, with dishes from both Min Jiang and The Deli.
To start, Min Jiang’s takeaway Five Fortune Appetiser Takeaway Platter boasts abundance. It is a delightful opening course made up of five appetisers—Chilled Mini Abalone With Sweet Chilli Sauce, Crispy Prawns With Salted Egg Yolk, Spicy Popcorn Chicken in Sichuan Style, BBQ Sweet Glazed Unagi, and Marinated Jellyfish Flower.
With appetisers done and dusted, train your attention towards the Slow-braised Spicy Oxtail with Pickled Mustard and Enoki Mushrooms in Claypot, which, as its name suggests, pays homage to the year of the Ox and features a tender, slow-braised oxtail and aromatics infused with familiar flavours of Sichuan.
Another praiseworthy claypot offering is the Braised Spring Chicken with Pork Belly and Sea Treasures—a luxurious and decadent showcase of 10-head Australian abalones, dried Brazilian mushrooms, dried oysters, dried scallops, sea cucumber and deep-fried taro. And then, there’s that whole spring chicken, lovingly marinated and then deep-fried, served alongside a pork belly, similarly deep-fried and then braised. It’s the kind of dish your family will be talking about until the next CNY for sure.
The Deli’s offerings, though different in style, employs the same level of innovation in its presentation and thought. There’s a Maple Butter and Almond Garlic Lotus Root Chips which sees deep-fried lotus root chips coated in a golden maple butter syrup and then tossed with minced garlic and almond flakes. A perfect pre-reunion dinner snack if you ask us.
Their Bountiful Box of Sweet Blessings is indeed bountiful and sweet and filled to the brim with 15 petit treats to celebrate the 15 days of Lunar New Year. Inside, diners can delight in sweet treats such as Chocolate Almond Tarts, Pineapple Crumble Tarts, Baked Cheesecakes, Orange Chiboust Cakes, and Coffee Vanilla Sponge Cakes. It’s every sweet tooth’s dream come true.
The Deli’s Lucky Fortune Oranges deserve notable mention for being an artisanal creation in itself. These oranges are in fact, kumquat butter cakes with a luscious vanilla buttercream layer, wrapped in a smooth fondant to look like mandarins while the box they sit in is a slab of marble cake covered in a red decorative fondant. A fitting and surprising treat in replacement of the traditional mandarin oranges.
Citi Cardmembers can enjoy up to 20% off Goodwood Park Hotel Lunar New Year takeaway. This promotion runs from 24 January to 26 February 2021.
Pan Pacific Singapore ushers in the year of the Ox with a curated selection of Chinese New Year goodies that Citi cardmembers can enjoy from the safety and comfort of home. For Citi Cardmembers who prefer something with a little less planning, the Classic Treasure Pot 海天楼花开富贵凤吞燕煲 (S$288; serves up to six, S$468; serves up to 10) makes for a satisfying communal treat. Inside, there’s an eight head whole abalone, bird’s nest, sakura chicken, dried scallops, wanton, and broccoli.
