CROQUANT CHOU ZAKUZAKU is the sister company of Hokkaido’s popular BAKE CHEESE TART. If you’ve tried BAKE CHEESE TART, you’d probably be familiar with the high-quality sweet treats from BAKE Inc.

However, unlike BAKE CHEESE TART that focuses primarily on cheese tarts, this store offers the famous Croquant Chou ZakuZaku (S$2.80).

Croquant chou is a stick-type cream puff that is filled with fresh cream and has a unique crunchy texture. The croquant is made of almonds coated with sugar and egg white, as well as a blend of flour and a fine-milk custard cream filling.

Do take care when biting into this treat, because the smooth cream oozes out instantly and makes it a delicious mess!

Can’t wait for Christmas to arrive? CROQUANT CHOU ZAKUZAKU is getting into the festive mood too.

The store is currently offering a limited-edition flavour for their Croquant Chou—Jingle Berry ZakuZaku (S$3.50). This flavour was my absolute favourite because of the slightly sour and sweet flavour combination. It was so addictive that each bite left me craving more.

Apart from the delectable Croquant Chou ZakuZaku, the store also sells Japan soft serve ice cream known as ZakuZaku Soft (S$6). The ZakuZaku Soft is made purely with Hokkaido milk and is coated with croquant chunks.

If you’re looking for more crunch with your soft serve, you could also get the HiyaZaku (S$3.80), which are crispy puffs containing soft ice-cream.

CROQUANT CHOU ZAKUZAKU prides itself on its philosophy of offering only the best quality baked sweets. Each Croquant Chou is freshly baked in-house and then filled with cream on the spot.

I think I’ve found my favourite Japanese baked treat, and I just can’t wait to go back for another bite of that croquant!
