Dinobites opened on 5 Dec 2023 within a coffeeshop at 82 Playfair Road. The stall is owned by the infamous Tanglin Crispy Curry Puff— you may have heard of the family drama and dispute surrounding this Hong Lim Market and Food Centre business.

Controversy aside, Dinobites is differentiated from Tanglin Crispy Curry Puff due to the fact that it offers more flavours.

Each crispy puff at Dinobites costs S$2, and is freshly made daily— the puff pastry is made and rolled by hand, before being stuffed full of ingredients, crimped shut and deep fried. The Chicken Potato Egg Puff is the most classic flavour on the menu, while Sardine Potato Egg is a good choice for those who prefer fishier flavours.

The Otah Puff is a more unorthodox find, while the final flavour, the Yam Puff, sounds like a delicious treat for orh nee lovers.

To celebrate its opening, Dinobites will be running a Buy 3 Free 1 promotion from now until 22 Dec 2023. Customers will be limited to receiving 10 free pieces per order.

The opening of Dinobites will certainly be a delight for curry puff lovers. In similar news, the Michelin Bib Gourmand stall, Rolina Traditional Hainanese Curry Puff, recently reopened after 8 months of closure. The 48-year-old owner, Ben Tham, had initially shuttered the stall due to health problems, but his 23-year-old daughter, Jolene Tham, and her fiance, stepped in 8 months later to take over.

It is lovely to see new hawker stalls pop up around the country, especially those that sell nostalgic dishes and treats that are important to our culture. We congratulate Dinobites on their opening and would like to wish them all the best!
