It’s a sad week for cupcake lovers. After close to 12 years of filling lives with little morsels of doughy joy, Fluff Bakery at 795 North Bridge Road has announced that it will be closing its doors for good.

In a heartfelt Instagram post on 15 Aug, the team admitted that it has been tough to keep afloat the past few years. “It breaks our hearts to close our doors forever,” they wrote, adding that their priority now is to settle staff salaries, suppliers, and rent before bidding goodbye to their loyal community. Their last day of operations will be sometime in mid- to late-September.

Fluff has been more than just a bakery for many, if the engagement on the post is anything to go by. They’ve been a part of birthdays, weddings, and everyday treats that brighten someone’s day. Fans have braved the snaking queues for their best-selling Nutella Red Velvet (S$4.50) and Salted Caramel (S$4.50) cupcakes, or ordered the iconic Ondeh Ondeh cake (S$42 for 6″, S$84 for 9″) for special occasions.
Apart from their evergreen options, Fluff is known for its seasonal surprises that rotate every month. From local twists like Bandung and Teh Tarik cupcakes to Salted Egg Yolk Chicken Floss Donuts and extra creamy Tres Leches, every visit feels like unwrapping a gift on Christmas day.

This closure has sparked an emotional wave online, with fans sharing fond memories and heartfelt tributes in the comments of the Instagram post. Many reminisced about growing up with Fluff’s bakes, and even more suggested the team consider continuing as a home-based business.
As they tide through their final hurrah, Fluff hopes that customers can continue to support them whether in-store, online, or through bake sales, to close this chapter without debts or regrets.
If Fluff Bakery has ever sweetened a moment in your life, now’s the time to savour one last bite.
