The highlight of this mall is its viral, breathtaking, cathedral-like atrium, characterised by lofty timber structures and abundant greenery.

With that, here are 10 Geneo Mall food spots to check out while you bask in the luscious views, from familiar favourites to niche speciality stalls.

1. Great Nanyang Heritage Cafe 大南洋 (#B1-32)

geneo - great nanyang storefront

Step into a nostalgic yesteryear at Great Nanyang, a charming eatery boasting old-school vibes. Though not pictured, they have an eye-catching green van situated outside the restaurant, reminiscent of those selling snacks from the rear of their truck back in olden Singapore.

Their third outlet is located conveniently on Basement 1, adjacent to the mall’s impressive atrium, perfect for a lunchtime escape with its retro decor and inviting ambience.

Not sure what to get? Their Penang White Curry Noodle (S$8.90) from the Nanyang All-time Favourite selection is a great option for a hearty and comforting lunch, while the Fresh Fruit Rojak that comes with a selection of 9 ingredients, affordably priced at S$1.50 each, makes for a tasty, refreshing snack.

geneo - great nanyang bread

I’d highly recommend you save some stomach space for their bread, too! From savoury options like the Otak-Otak Steam Bun (S$4.80) to sweet favourites like Mashed Taro Steam Bun (S$4.80) and Kaya Butter French Toast (S$4.50), there’s bound to be a pillowy bun attuned to your taste buds.

Pair your meal with their signature Kopi (Cold)(S$3.80) or a Coconut Coffee (Cold)(S$5.90) for a cheeky TGIF treat.

2. Swensen’s Unlimited (#01-06)

geneo - swensen's unlimited storefront

When I was a child, Swensen’s was a restaurant reserved for special occasions like birthdays or doing well on a test. As an adult, you have free will to indulge in a buffet here from S$35 per pax on a weekday afternoon. That’s what I noticed many office workers from the surrounding towers doing, lol.

This is the full breakdown of prices for the unlimited buffet. Do note that child rates apply to those from age 5 to below 12 years old.

Feast on a halal-certified international buffet experience featuring a diverse array of cuisines from Peranakan to Indian. This expansive spread includes sizzling hot dishes and live cooking stations offering local delights like beef kway teow, and made-to-order pastas, to a dedicated seafood section brimming with fresh tiger prawns and mussels.

geneo - swensen's unlimited dessert

We all know Swensen’s takes their dessert seriously. Here, that emans a kaleidoscope of 48 rotating ice cream flavours. They also offer a selection of kuehs, pastries and yes, you guessed it, a chocolate fountain.

3. All Things Mala (#01-25)

geneo - all things mala storefront

Ever had to force a smile and nod when your colleagues asked to share a bowl of mala when, in actuality, you just wanted your own? Located in the mall’s food court — Hawkerlab — All Things Mala is your solution, where every bowl comes with a set combo in individual portions below S$10.

geneo - all things mala food

Rather than the usual mala affair of picking and choosing your ingredients from the display chiller, All Things Mala crafts the perfect combination for you. We tried their best-sellers, the Signature Mala Chicken Bowl (S$8.90) and Fiery Beef King Bowl (S$9.90).

Both bowls were packed with those springy instant noodles, generous portions of chicken or beef, and a mountain of veggies. I particularly enjoyed the crispy strips crowning the dish that owner Kuan Loong refers to as “yusheng crispies”.

geneo - all things mala mochi youtiao

Kuan Loong also shared with us that they cut down on oil when frying the mala xiang guo, so you can worry less about the calories. But hey, what’s a meal complete without dessert? Save some room for the Crispy Mochi Youtiao with Condensed Milk (S$3.50) for the perfect sweet finish!

4. OLD CHANG SHENG JIAN BAO 老张生煎 (#01-25)

Another stall nestled within Hawkerlab is OLD CHANG SHENG JIAN BAO, an inconspicuous spot serving up authentic pan-fried buns and Chinese noodles.

According to reviewers, their Signature Pork Pan-fried bun (S$5.50 for 4pcs) is a must-get, said to be packed with broth while maintaining a crispy exterior. Pair the sheng jian bao with a bowl of their best-selling Scallion Oil Chicken Noodle Dry (S$5.80) for a warm, filling lunch that will likely send you into a food coma afterwards.

If I worked or studied anywhere near Geneo Mall, this would hands-down be my daily lunch obsession. Grab these little parcels of joy hot, dip them in a dash of vinegar, and prepare for a deliciously satisfying bite.

5. Olive & Peach (#01-31)

geneo - olive & peach storefront

Olive & Peach is a quiet, minimalistic cafe perfect for students or the working crowd. Treat yourself to a cup of their speciality coffee and focaccia sandwiches as you continue hustling the week away.

geneo - olive & peach drinks + cake

We tried their Iced Flat White (S$6.50), Iced Matcha Latte (S$7.50) and Cafe Bombon (S$6.50), which is essentially a double shot of espresso layered on top of condensed milk, topped off with foam. Paired with a slice of their not-too-sweet Lemon Mousse Cake (S$6), this tea break was just the pick-me-up I needed on this slow afternoon.

A plus is that this cafe is located near the stunning atrium, letting in loads of glorious sunlight that brightens up the whole space. I spent a good 3 hours in the cafe doing my work before I even knew it.
