Scheduled to launch on 24 Mar 2024, Singaporeans can  savour the genuine flavours of Penang without enduring the lengthy trip.

Established in 1856, Ghee Hiang is a brand steeped in tradition. It initially introduced the Ghee Hiang Baby Brand Pure Sesame Oil in the 1900s before diversifying into pastries production. Employing age-old traditional methods and techniques from Fujian, China, their products boast exceptional quality and distinct flavours.

Their debut in Singapore is made possible through Penang Culture, a restaurant renowned for its Penang delicacies. Soon, aficionados of Penang food will be able to find Ghee Hiang pastries at 5 Penang Culture outlets across Singapore, located at Jem, VivoCity, Nex, Changi Airport Terminal 1, and Compass One.

Ghee Hiang Bakery - Small Tau Sar Pneah & Phong Pneah

Ghee Hiang will offer 4 main pastry varieties in Singapore. Notable among them is the Small Tau Sar Pneah (S$13 for 16 pieces), a renowned pastry that’s a must-try in Penang. With a savoury green bean filling encased in crumbly skin, it promises a delightful taste experience.

Another signature choice is the Phong Pneah (S$11.50 for 5 pieces), known for its delicate pastry and sweet white sugar syrup filling.

Alternatively, there’s the Hneoh Pneah (S$13 for 16 pieces), filled with brown sugar and encased in delicately crafted skin. Baked to perfection, this treat is sure to tantalise your taste buds.

Also, don’t miss their Beh Teh Saw (S$12 for 5 pieces), featuring gooey melted molasses and flaky pastry, crowned with famous sesame seeds. Each of these pastries are handmade and guaranteed to delight.
