With the extension of the ‘Circuit Breaker’ period, food establishments are taking a hit—from temporary suspension of dine-in services, to a dizzying switch to predominantly delivery/take-away services, these are trying times for F&B outlets.
For food establishments that aren’t used to handling takeaway and delivery, getting customers on-board can be tough. On the side of us diners, it’s not always easy to search for which of our favourite F&B outlets are available for delivery, and what their delivery radius is.

That’s where Google Pay comes in.; the new Menu Discovery feature allows us to browse menus, select items, and contact the restaurants and stalls to place our orders and pay.
You can browse through categories including Hawker, Halal, Korean, Italian and more. That certainly makes it easier to find what you want to order. If you’re the foodie in your group of friends, you can share the menus of your favourite eateries with your friends, through a custom link. Sharing is caring, after all.

For now, Google is still adding on to the Menu Discovery feature. Most of the food establishments currently available are within the central area, which means that those of you (like me!) who stay in more heartland areas might not get the same delivery options.
F&B owners will be pleased to know that the new Menu Discovery feature is free to use—no more middleman fees! Of course, this also helps to keep orders affordable for us consumers.

Still hungry for more restaurants? Keep a lookout for new developments, because Google is looking to bring Chope onboard! That means Chope-affiliated F&B outlets may soon be coming to Google Pay too.
The situation might be dire for F&B establishments, but with our support, we can get through this together. Let’s work together to #savefnbsg!
