March is finally upon us—the month of sustainability, celebrating womankind, and excessive drinking. That’s right, St. Patrick’s Day falls on 17 March 2020, and Guinness is celebrating this holiday with a free drink on them!
If you’re lost as to what I’m talking about, St. Patrick’s Day is commemorated to honour the eponymous Saint Patrick on the anniversary of his death. On this day, Christians would hold a great feast and are allowed to forgo the Lenten restrictions on food and alcohol consumption. As a result, this holiday has become synonymous with drinking in excess, at least in accordance with Irish tradition.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, the annual St. Patrick’s Festival slated for 13 to 15 March 2020 has been cancelled, but don’t let that put a dampener on your drinking plans. To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this year, beer giant Guinness is giving away free half pints of Guinness Draught. Stout lovers, rejoice! Here’s how to sign up so you can enjoy one on the house.
First, successfully register on their website here with some basic contact details, following which, you’ll receive a unique SMS link and email (only one registration per mobile number). You can then redeem your free half-pint of Guinness Draught at participating bars from 1 March to 31 March 202o by showing your valid SMS link to the friendly bar staff.
Some other important details—this free half-pint is limited to the first 10,000 redemptions and is non-transferrable and non-exchangeable. Other FAQs can be found on their website as well!
