We’ve always joked about how artificial intelligence will one day take over the world. Well now, they’re slowly taking over the food industry.
Hawkee is Singapore’s first food establishment to have robot chefs preparing your favourite hawker dishes for you.
Located at Frasers Tower, the food court recently opened in September 2019, and accommodate up to 91 people.
Hawkee, which is Hokkien for “curious”, has a fully-automated cooking system that has definitely piqued our interest.
Their menu features a selection of 12 dishes, and you can expect to enjoy local favourites like Hokkien Mee (S$6), Char Kway Teow (S$6) and even Mala Xiang Guo (S$8.90 – S$18.90).
Epic Food and Beverage, the mastermind behind the “robochef” concept, aims to increase productivity through automation, and also to preserve our hawker culture.
The robots (named D.I.A.N.A.) are manufactured to whip up five dishes in five minutes, while still ensuring that the wok hei flavour is consistent.
