Themed cafes and gorgeous Muji-style cafes can be found all about Singapore’s cafe scene nowadays. But Hooloo, a one-of-a-kind new cafe at Kovan, might perhaps be the most eye-catching addition to the scene, decked with holographic decor that makes the whole place pop with vibrantly lustrous colours.

Originally home to the quirky Hatter Street cafe, the space has been interestingly rebranded and refitted to the new look recently. On their new menu, you can find desserts such as waffles and ice cream, as well as some interesting savoury mains in their rice bowls and bagels selection.

While the trippy decor of Hooloo has taken over, fans of Hatter Street can still find their delicious cakes online as the brand has transitioned into an online cake shop. Plus, Hatter Street’s signature waffles and ice cream are also available at the new incarnation of the cafe where a single scoop of ice cream costs S$4.50 and it costs S$9.90 together with some waffles.

There’s a wide variety of creative local flavours here including, Milo Dinosaur, Pandan, and Coconut Sorbet though you can also find more classic flavours like Pistachio, Dark Chocolate, and Mao Shan Wang for fans of the strong-smelling fruit.

An interesting highlight on Hooloo’s menu is their “Baegoals”, which are massive bagels stuffed to the brim with fillings. You can find five different varieties for you to pick from including Breakfast Yumm (S$15.90), Jinjaa ‘Croque’ (S$17.90), Roasted Chic (S$18.90), Hooly Cow (S$19.90), and Weightlifter (S$23.90). But do note that these bagels will only be served on Tuesdays to Sundays.
