Some people may enjoy visiting IKEA to go furniture shopping, but personally, my favourite thing about the Swedish furniture store is the food. IKEA has just introduced new durian desserts, in line with durian season.

Available exclusively from Mondays to Thursdays, excluding public holidays, IKEA’s durian desserts will be sold in IKEA’s Swedish Restaurant and Swedish Food Market from 4 July to 31 August 2022.

IKEA’s durian desserts include their D24 Durian Cheese Tart (S$3.50), consisting of a buttery tart filled with durian and cream cheese filling, a D24 Durian Cream Cake (S$4.90 per slice), made with layers of cake and durian, and the D24 Durian Cream Puff (S$3).

If a single slice of durian cake isn’t enough for you, why not buy an entire 500g D24 Durian Cream Cake for S$29.90? The whole cakes are available in IKEA’s Swedish Food Market.

For non-durian lovers, no worries for IKEA has also launched other new food products. Their Swedish Bistro in Tampines has introduced a new menu with snacks like Sausage Balls in a Cup (S$4 for 9 pieces), containing chicken wiener balls, pork wiener balls and chicken chipolata balls.

Plus, they also have plant-based ice cream in the flavours of Dark Chocolate, Strawberry or Dark Chocolate Strawberry for just S$2 per cone.

Meanwhile, in celebration of Chicken Wing Day, IKEA Family members will get to enjoy six pieces of Spicy Buffalo Chicken Wings for S$8.90 from 25 July to 31 July 2022, a dollar cheaper than the original price of S$9.90.

It appears that IKEA is not only launching its durian desserts in Singapore, but in Malaysia as well. With durian season taking over, who knows which other eateries will come up with fun durian desserts and dishes too?
