If you stay in the East and frequent Tampines Mall, you will have 1 less major shopping option to check out at the end of this year. This is because department store Isetan Tampines will shutter its outlet at Tampines Mall in Nov, it said on 6 May.

Speaking to The Straits Times, a company spokesperson said that the decision was made as its lease was coming to an end. The department store has been an anchor tenant in Tampines Mall since it opened in 1996, according to a community Instagram post.
Isetan, a Japanese department store chain, sells a wide variety of goods. These include fashion, beauty, lifestyle items, food and groceries, and more. The chain is known for its curated luxury and exclusive offerings, including collaborations and limited-edition drops.
What will happen to the space occupied by Isetan Tampines?

Tampines Mall said on its Facebook page that it will be transforming the space to bring customers an elevated shopping experience with the latest in fashion, beauty, and lifestyle.
In its heyday in 2013, Isetan had 6 stores here. These were Isetan Scotts, Isetan Wisma Atria, Isetan Katong, Isetan Serangoon Central, Isetan Tampines and Isetan Westgate.
