My experience with hot dogs in Singapore is basically summed up in two words: IKEA hotdog. So when we heard about this new hotdog place in ARC 380 at Jalan Besar called Lecker Hotdog, we figured it was a good chance to expand our sausage horizons.
Lecker Hotdog, located on level 1 just outside the Bgain food court, features decor inspired by retro American diners. Although the dine-in area is small, it didn’t feel cramped.
Currently, Lecker Hotdog has 8 different varieties to choose from, each loaded with toppings. Hotdogs start from S$4.80 ala carte, and you have 2 different combo options. You can choose to add S$1.80 for an additional drink, or S$3.10 for both a drink and a side. Sides include corn cups, popcorn chicken, and onion rings.
We decided to go for the Heavy Cheese Hotdog (S$7.40 with drink combo) and Texas Bolognese Sauce Hotdog (S$6.90 with drink, promotional price). The Heavy Cheese Hotdog was topped with 2 cheese slices and drizzles of mayo and ketchup. The slices had been gently melted over the bun, and covered it like a delicious golden blanket. It was a veritable cheese-splosion in one mouthful.
The Texas Bolognese Sauce Hotdog was covered in a generous helping of minced pork cooked in what tasted a lot like a ketchup-based sauce. While it didn’t taste like a proper bolognese, the meat was tender and well-cooked.
The sausages were pleasant – definitely not gourmet fare, but for the price point, more than decent. The buns were also lightly toasted, adding additional texture to the hotdog.

In what is a very rare policy, especially for Singapore, they allow you to bring in food from outside vendors to enjoy in-house, as long as someone in your group orders from Lecker Hotdog. Now, that’s a good reason to try the place today.
