Mala Mala 1

For all you mala lovers out there, we’ve just been blessed by the “mala God”. Mala Mala has introduced their first mala chips this September 2018. To ensure fans of spice have the best snack experience, they came up with three different spice levels.

The chips come in Mild Spicy, Super Spicy and Crazy Spicy, so you can choose the spiciness according to your own personal preference and spice tolerance. As a mala fan since forever, the Crazy Spicy chips really hit the spot for me!

Mala Mala 2

Unlike conventional chips, Mala Mala’s chips come as hand-cut potato wedges or mushroom chips. The spices of the chips are also true to the mala flavour, with the signature Sichuan chillies, peppercorns and star anise. The peppercorns really gives the chips that numbing sensation.

Mala Mala 3

I prefer the mushroom chips a lot more compared to the potato wedges, because of the texture. The dried mushroom chips had a nice thick crunch to it, which really brought out the spices of the chips.

On the other hand, the potato wedges were too tough for my liking. Also, after munching on the potato wedges for awhile, the chips turned powdery and left my mouth dry. Definitely not something I want in my chips.

If you’re craving a taste of mala, head over to Paragon and get your fix in the form of chips.
