Woah! Can someone slow down the clock already? It’s now October and I’m back for the 10th instalment of our monthly hawker centre cleaning series for 2024.

Most of us eagerly anticipate our lunch break at the office, excited to visit our favourite food centre and indulge in our cravings. Wouldn’t it be frustrating to arrive at a closed shop after a sweaty walk, only to find out they’re washing?

To avoid any inconvenience, here’s a list of markets and hawker centres scheduled for spring cleaning in Oct 2024. Do me a favour: take a look, and if your usual makan spot is involved, jot it down somewhere— whether it’s on a post-it, your phone, or your calendar.
