Singaporean home cooks, your time starts…now! MasterChef is coming to Singapore, and with some luck, your dream of becoming the best cook in Singapore can finally come true.
I can’t say the same for you, but I’ve spent quite an embarrassing amount of time watching MasterChef (US) and fantasising about being there myself (despite my non-existent ability to cook). Just imagine, getting your hands on that coveted white apron and cooking up a storm in that beautiful MasterChef kitchen!
Applications are open from now until 25 March 2018, midnight. You can fill out the application form at www.masterchefsingapore.sg. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, and Singaporean citizens or permanent residents.
Additionally, you must be an amateur to apply – that means no professional experience or culinary training. For more information on the requirements, visit the MasterChef Singapore.
The reality show will premiere in August 2018, and aired on Mediacorp’s Channel 8. I’m quite eager to see what sort of challenges contestants will be faced with and how a local spin could be incorporated.
Perhaps a Kueh Lapis pressure test, or a team challenge at a hawker centre?
