Anyone familiar with celebrity chef Gaggan Anand will know his restaurant in Singapore, Ms Maria & Mr Singh, which has been up and running for the past 2 years since October 2022 at Craig Road.
Originating from Bangkok, Ms Maria & Mr Singh specialises in Indian-Mexican food with its concept revolving around a fictional romance between a Mexican hometown girl and an Indian city boy.
Recently, however, the restaurant announced that they would be closing their doors on 24 Aug 2024. The closure was due to them being unable to renew their work passes, as shared in the Instagram post.
“It’s been an unforgettable ride filled with spice, sass, and sizzle! But all good things must come to an end,” they shared on their social media post.
The restaurant will remain open for guests until 24 Aug, during which they have also announced plans to host an “epic farewell party,” with details released at a later date.
Netizens have expressed their sadness over the news, with comments ranging from a sense of loss in Singapore’s local food scene to wishing the eatery well on their new journey.
While it has been a fantastic run for the restaurant, make sure you head down for one last meal—or more—before they take off for good!
