Just like the malls, JB’s cafe scene is not slowing down anytime soon — and honestly, not mad about it. If you’re planning your next cafe hop (or just need new places to add to your list), here are 5 new cafes in JB to check out this April.
1. Dachshund & Friends

If your idea of a good time is hanging out with sausage dogs for an hour, this one’s for you. Dachshund & Friends in Mount Austin is a newly opened pet cafe in JB fully dedicated to — you guessed it — dachshunds.
They run 1-hour petting sessions (RM30 weekdays, RM34 weekends), and it’s strictly for those aged 16 and above. It’s a pretty structured experience — fixed time slots, socks required — but that also means it’s a bit more controlled and less chaotic.
Just manage your expectations a little: the dogs might be chilling or napping instead of running around the whole time. Still cute either way.

2. Hibi by Wizards

Over at Eco Botanic, Hibi by Wizards feels a little more classy and boujee — the kind of place you go when you want a quieter, slower cafe moment.
The menu revolves around Japanese dishes like Hibi Somen Cold (RM24), Salmon Chazuke (RM38), Kushiyaki, and a more indulgent Wagyu Katsu Curry Rice (RM88). If you’re into matcha, this is one to note — they’ve got a whole range like Ajisai, Aorasai, Kiyone, and Akane.

3. Naug Cafe & Desserts

Naug Cafe & Desserts sits behind a plant store at Tan Hiok Nee, and stepping in honestly feels like you’ve walked into someone’s very aesthetic backyard. Lots of greenery, pebbles, rattan furniture — very chill, very “let’s just sit here for 2 hours” kind of vibe.
They’re also big on the whole botanical concept, with moss displays and even terrarium workshops (from RM75) if you’re feeling a bit hands-on.
Food is fun and Instagrammable. Their Garden Pizza (RM34) comes in waffle form with chicken pepperoni and all that jazz, while Blossom Waffle (RM36) is more dessert-forward with strawberries, almond slices, and raspberry vanilla ice cream.
Drinks like Pandan Gula Melaka Latte (RM21) and Camelot Cinnamon Latte (RM21) fit the theme nicely too.

4. Shüü Cafe

If you’re the type who can’t say no to cream puffs, Shüü Cafe in Taman Abad is going to be dangerous. They’ve got over 10 flavours of freshly baked choux — from Classic Madagascar Vanilla (RM12) to Mango Passion Oolong (RM13) and Semai 70% Salted Chocolate (RM14).
They do proper food too, so it’s not just desserts. Shun’s Daily Ritual (RM33) and Rosti Benny (RM33) are solid brunch options, and there are soft cookies like Classic Chocolate Chip (RM13), Smores Chocolate Chip (RM15), and Triple Chocolate Walnut (RM16) if you want something simple on the side.

5. Carfeidian

Carfeidian in Taman Melodies is a bit of a wildcard — part cafe, part car workshop, built around a “Car, Coffee, Community” concept.
The menu is quite eye-catching and mouthwatering too. You’ve got dishes like Chilli Crab Shakshuka (RM38), Chicken Waffle (RM34), Assam Pedas Clam Pasta (RM36), Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah (RM30), and Surf & Turf Chee Cheong Fun (RM30) — loaded with tiger prawns, chicken char siew, laksa sauce, and scrambled eggs.
