Dim Sum-body say dim sum? You heard right. Tim Ho Wan has opened its 11th outlet in Punggol Waterway Point. Yay for North-Easties!

The new 94-seater Hong Kong restaurant is located on the first level of the west wing in Punggol Waterway Point.

With its newest outlet, Tim Ho Wan introduces its latest limited-edition Spring Beef Specials including Traditional Beef Ball Congee (S$7) and Steamed Beef Ball With Beancurd Skin (S$6).

The porridge was well-broken down though it could have been slightly thicker. It’s a good portion for two to share if you’re planning on having other dishes, otherwise, it’ll be quite filling for one.

The woody flavour of ginger can be tasted in the soft beef balls which went quite well with the congee and crackers. The crunch from the crackers contrasted with the squidgy beef balls and the mushy rice also added a good textural difference.

Much like the beef balls in the congee, these Steamed Beef Ball With Beancurd Skin had a similar quality.

Try the chewy beancurd skins enveloping the beef balls added a different experience when biting into it.

Garlicky and fragrant, the Minced Beef Fried Rice (S$8.50) has a good amount of tender chunky beef pieces to go with every mouthful.

At first glance, it might look plain without a sprinkle of a garnish but this more atas version of Chee Cheong Fan drenched in soy sauce actually contains minced beef and chives.

This serving of Minced Beef Rice Rolls (S$6.80) had all the flavours encapsulated in a bite and was easy to swallow.

The buttery smell of their signature Baked BBQ Pork Buns (S$5.80) practically sent me to heaven.

The first taste of the bun reminded me of the predominantly popular snack in Hong Kong: polo buns.

The crumbly and sweet exterior of the bun complemented the savoury pork fillings immensely well and I couldn’t stop eating it. This dish easily made it to the top of my list.

Tim Ho Wan at Punggol Waterway Point is a great location for the young families and students within the area. Enjoy a traditional Hong Kong style meal without breaking the bank!
