At the end of every month, I’ll be rounding up 5 exciting new dining spots in Singapore for you to check out. For August, I have a great mix of places: a Korean BBQ spot, a bakery, a coffeeshop stall, a restaurant, and a bagel cafe. Without further ado, here’s my curated list of the 5 new kopitiam stalls, restaurants, bakeries & cafes that opened in Singapore in Aug 2026.
1. Tembusu

Situated within the lush greenery of Singapore Botanic Gardens near Ginger Garden is Tembusu, is a straits dining, rustic-looking restaurant that has taken over The Halia. With straw lamps, sheer linen curtains, and plenty of wooden furnishings, the whole space has a rustic, almost Balinese resort feel to it.

I loved the simplicity of the Signature Otak–Otak Sliders (S$20), made with batang fish and tiger prawns. It’s served with kaffir lime aioli and sandwiched between buttery brioche. The Smoked Burrata (S$22) stands out from the usual versions you get at Italian joints with its charred cherry tomatoes, bursting with robust smoky flavours. The Stuffed Chicken Wings (S$18) with Tembusu’s in-house made Hainanese chilli is also a must-try!

If you’re a coffee lover, the Kopi C (S$5.90) here is full-bodied and aromatic. To beat the ridiculous Singapore heat, cool off with shaved ice options like the Pink Guava Snow Ice (S$12.90). We also enjoyed the decadent Biscoff Cheesecake (S$14).
Address: 1 Cluny Road, Ginger Garden Singapore Botanic Gardens, Singapore 259569
2. wokao!

Are u a fan of Chinese skewers or as we fondly call them, chuan chuan? Then I highly recommend wokao! at JFD 家啡店 Coffeeshop at Geylang Lorong 29. The menu showcases over 25 varieties of BBQ skewers, all grilled till smoky perfection over charcoal, with prices ranging from S$1 to S$5 each.

Feast on piquant Pork Belly, Beef, Chicken, and Pork Skewers (all for S$1 each). You can also enjoy juicy King Oyster Mushroom (S$1), Grilled Garlic Scallop (S$4), Mantou (S$1), Chicken Wing (S$2), and much more.
To complement your skewers, you can order other dishes like the Sichuan Pepper Chicken (S$10), Cold Cucumber Salad (S$6) and Stir-Fried Tomato with Egg (S$8).
Address: 2 Geylang Lorong 29, Singapore 388058
3. Cloudmills

Cloudmills at 1 Claymore Drive is a sister bakery of Cloudfields restaurant that’s headed by MasterChef Singapore season one’s runner-up, Genevieve Lee. Over at this grab-and-go bakery with outdoor seating in town, you can find more than 25 Japanese-inspired bakes.

Some of our favourites include the Mango Mochi (S$6.90) which has fresh and sweet cubes of mango. Another standout is the Unagi Moon (S$7.20), inspired by one of Genevieve’s favourite dishes, the unagi don. It features a delicious bread stuffed with grilled unagi and a tamagoyaki.
Address: 1 Claymore Drive, #01-01, Singapore 229594
4. The Hanok

The Hanok is an authentic Korean BBQ spot at Lentor Modern Mall that’s opened by native Koreans. The restaurant prides itself in bringing in premium imported meat cuts and even crafts its own tofu in-house.

The 460g Beef Set (S$179) consists of either a 120g ribeye and 120g marbled beef, or settle for a 150g marinated marbled beef, 220g short ribs and a hot bowl of stew. The menu also has other tantalising options including the Seafood Pancake (S$27), Black Bean Ramen (S$18), and Spicy Stir-Fried Octopus (S$45). Try the salad that’s drizzled with their house-made blueberry dressing that’s refreshing and unique.
Address: 1 Lentor Central, #01-08/09, Singapore 788887
5. Kali Kali

Kali Kali is a specialty bagels spot at the foodcourt of CT Hub2. The bagels are made in-house daily, featuring a crispy crust that mimics the same texture as shio pan. If you’re an early bird, you’ll be able to purchase their plain or cheddar bagels from 6.30am.

A perfect breakfast choice is the Avo & Lox featuring smoked salmon, avocado and capers. If you want something unique, opt for the Bagel & Schmear Set which pairs either a sweet or savoury bagel with dips like chocolate, strawberry or caramelised onion.
