According to Oriental Daily, Pavilion Padang Besar or Kompleks Pavilion will be the first business complex in the state to open until nightfall. Izizam Ibrahim, chairman of the State Border Relations Committee, stated that the mall’s operation hours will boost business operations along the Malaysia-Thailand border. Additionally, this will align with the 2024 and 2025 Perlis Tourism Years, aiming to draw both local and international visitors to the area.

Izizam Ibrahim also mentioned that although the contemporary-styled mall is still undergoing renovation works, all 110 shops have already been rented by merchants.

On another note, Izizam stated that the two-storey Plaza Niaga commercial building next to Pavilion Padang Besar is anticipated to open in December 2023, with various eateries in the upper storey and several retail establishments in the lower storey.

“For now, only some final touch-ups are left to go for Plaza Niaga before it’s fully operational. As for Pavilion, we only have some maintenance work left before the mall opens its doors,” Izizam mentioned.
