Ruth’s Chris Steak House celebrates Father’s Day with an all-new collaboration with Brooks Brothers, known for its classic American style and impeccable tailoring.
Throughout the month of June, treat your dad to a specially curated Set Menu (S$120++) at Ruth Chris’ Steak House located at Marina Mandarin Hotel.
Originally founded in 1965 by Ruth Fertel in New Orleans, Louisiana, Ruth’s Chris Steak House has established itself as a premier upscale restaurant.
They’ve garnered quite the reputation for using premium ingredients and for paying attention to the little details. I was really quite excited to try their dishes out!
The Set Menu consists of four courses. To whet our appetites, we had Ruth’s signature Blue Crab Cake.
The jumbo lump of crab cake is served with sizzling lemon butter and is a traditional New Orleans favourite. I really enjoyed the juicy and succulent crab meat which had remarkable taste and texture,
Though slightly on the fishy side, the sizzling lemon butter helped to counteract this.
You can also opt for the Lobster Bisque or Caesar Salad if you want to switch things up.
The delectable set menu featured the restaurant’s signature meat dishes as options for the entrée course.
I had the USDA Prime Ribeye, which I thoroughly enjoyed. At Ruth’s Chris Steak House, steaks are cooked at 1800 degrees Fahrenheit, locking in the juiciness and flavours of the cuts.
Done medium rare, the steak was seasoned with salt and pepper, which is the way I prefer.
I really enjoyed the high levels of marbling, which translated into more flavour. Furthermore, there was a subtle sweetness to the meat, possibly due to the cows only being fed corn.
You can also opt for the Midwestern Petite Filet steak if you want something more tender. Other entrée choices include Market Fresh Fish and Stuffed Chicken Breast, to cater to different dietary requirements.
Dishes were also served with a choice of side of Creamed Spinach, Potatoes Au Gratin, Lyonnaise Potatoes, or Grilled Asparagus.
For the final dinner course, I had the Ruth’s Mini Cheesecake with Fresh Berries, paired with coffee and tea. I really enjoyed the New Orleans-style dense and creamy cheesecake, particularly when paired with a sweet and sour berry sauce.
