We’re all no strangers to the popular Korean series, Squid Game. Regardless of whether you’re a K-drama fan or not, you’ve definitely kowtowed to the masses and watched it when it first got released in 2021.

If memory serves us right, the series ended on a cliffhanger with us on the edge of our seats. Well, wait no longer, as Squid Game’s director Hwang Dong Hyuk announces the premiere of season 2 on 26 Dec 2024!

In season 1, we were introduced to the game, which forced Korean citizens who were down on their luck to gamble with their lives. In return, they could win a life-changing cash prize or suffer deadly consequences.

In season 2, we will see how three years after winning the game, our main protagonist Seong Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae), AKA player 456, shows his unending determination to find the people behind the game and put an end to this twisted sport.

Using his fortune from season 1 to fund his search, Gi Hun will soon realise that in order to end the game, he’ll need to re-enter it and take them down from the inside.

Who else will be making their appearances in this season’s wicked game? Needless to say, returning cast such as Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, and Gong Yoo will be back, because how else will the show continue without them?

Additionally, expect fresh faces such as Kang Ha Neul (The Heirs), Lee David (Itaewon Class), Im Si Wan (Summer Strike), and Jo Yu Ri, among many others.

The entire game will come to a head with Squid Game’s 3rd and final season, which is confirmed to premiere in 2025. So, if you’re a little rusty on the storyline, make sure you watch season 1 on Netflix before season 2 premieres!
