New in town: SSADA GIMBAB — Authentic Korean bunsik & gimbap in the West

I love Beauty World for the many Korean food options there (looking at you Cheong Chin Nam Road)… So, I was over the moon when I found out that yet another Korean food joint, SSADA GIMBAB 싸다김밥 had joined the ranks at Bukit Timah Shopping Centre.

SSADA GIMBAB 싸다김밥 sells, well, gimbap or Korean seaweed rice rolls with all sorts of fillings from cheese to mala pork.

They also have a wide variety of bunsik, or what many of us see as quintessential Korean “snack food” like rabokki. If you want something more substantial, they have it, too. Their Curry Tonkatsu (S$14) looks bussin.

If you are a fan of tteokbboki, their Rabboki (S$13) (that really looks like cheese with tteok) will be right up your alley. Just look at the mountain of cheese that’s covering the spicy red sauce!

While the SSADA GIMBAB 싸다김밥 at Bukit Timah Shopping Centre does not have any ties to the SSADA GIMBAB in Korea, they sure have some really good and authentic Korean food. The gimbap is freshly made to order by a Korean ajumma.

For gimbap specifically, many recommend the Mala Pork Gimbap (S$11) that’s said to be extremely savoury and chock-full of hearty ingredients. The Beef Gimbap (S$11) is also a hot favourite at the stall. SSADA GIMBAB 싸다김밥 really has a wide variety of flavours to choose from, so there’s likely something for every palate.
