Think you and your makan buddies have endless appetites? It’s time to put that to the test. Sushi Express and Sushi Plus are inviting teams of 2 to take on their Zermatt Neo-inspired Big Eater Challenge across selected dates in Oct 2026, with registration starting on 23 Sep 2026.
The rules are simple: Each team has 50 minutes to devour as many plates of sushi as they can. The more plates your duo clears, the greater the discount — demolishing 200 or more plates makes your entire meal FREE! The plate count is shared between both teammates, meaning a free meal works out to 100 plates per person, so choose your partner wisely!
Here’s the milestone breakdown for each team:
40 plates → 20% OFF
80 plates → 40% OFF
120 plates → 60% OFF
200 plates & above → FREE MEAL
The challenge runs on 4, 13, 21 and 28 Oct, with the final session taking place on 4 Nov 2026. There will be 2 sessions on each challenge date, at 2.30pm and 4pm.
To be eligible for the challenge, both members of the team must be at least 18 years old, and each member can only participate once. Only plates taken directly from the conveyor belt will be counted towards your total. Finally, all food — including garnishing — must be consumed within the 50-minute time limit.
If a free sushi feast isn’t motivation enough, there’s a cold, hard cash reward as well. The top 3 teams with the highest overall plate counts stand to walk away with S$1,000, S$800 and S$500 respectively.
You can participate in the challenge at selected Sushi Express venues, including Westgate, Waterway Point, Changi City Point, Paya Lebar Quarter (PLQ) and Sushi Plus in 313@Somerset.
Slots are strictly limited and registration opens 2 weeks before each challenge date, so hit up your hungriest friend and sign up online before slots are full!
