Tha Chang Noodle Bar at Golden Mile Complex to shift out by 2 Apr 2023

Tha Chang Noodle Bar, originally located in Golden Mile Complex, will be relocating to 171 Telok Ayer. Their last day at Golden Mile Complex will be 2 Apr 2023.

With the news that the Golden Mile Complex has been sold as an en bloc property, stores within have no choice but to vacate the premises. Some have chosen to close for good, taking this sale as a sign that it is time to retire. Golden Mile Complex has been a place full of history, and it is recognised as an epitome of modern architecture back in the 1960s. For many, this is a rather bittersweet moment.

Marking Singapore’s vision for high-rise housing, the complex contains many memories for many of us. Golden Mile Complex was also the place for the Thai community to bond and sell their local goods, giving all Thai folks some familiarity in a foreign environment. It was known as “Singapore’s Little Thailand” by the locals!

Tha Chang Noodle Bar was founded with that mindset. 3 Thai friends, Anna, Jazz and Maysa, wanted to bring the authentic taste of Thai cuisine to Singapore. With their focus on Thai boat noodles, the trio trained immensely to hone their craft. Having trained under an extremely skilled master, the 3 were able to dish out Thai boat noodles that fully display their paid-off efforts!

With other flavourful items like Omelette Crab Bomb (S$22.90) and Papaya Salad (S$14), Tha Chang offers more than Thai boat noodles. Aiming to have a full-fledged menu that can truly represent Thai food, Tha Chang will also be fine-tuning their items (as mentioned in a response to a Google Review). So, stay excited for their new menu!

It is relieving to hear that Tha Chang will still continue providing delicious Thai food for Singapore to enjoy despite their relocation. We wish them all the best wishes for their grand opening. The opening date remains unknown, but is promised to be released soon. Be sure to support them at their new location, 171 Telok Ayer, and at their current location while Golden Mile Complex is still running!
