An Affair of Eight Hands is a playful interpretation, and expansion of a classic 4 hands dinner, a culinary event where 2  renowned chefs collaborate to create a special menu together. This evening features the works of artist Yanyun Chen, together with 2 chefs: Marvas Ng, from Michelin restaurant, Path, and Jack Allibone of members club, Mandala.

So why are there 8 hands? This is because the experience includes the artist’s hands and the diner’s hands which complete the experience. This encourages guests to engage with food, a motif reflected in Yanyun’s interest in using gestures of communication in her craft.

Embark on an exquisite evening of art, ideas, sustainability and culinary exploration at The Feast: Sojourns of Salt with Ken + Julia Yonetani. The event is at the restaurant Fiz.

Central to the experience is unique salt sculptures created by the Japanese-Australian artist duo, Ken + Julia Yonetani. These works transform food items into fragile, glimmering forms made from Murray River salt. This highlights the delicate balance between sustenance and the environment. It also invites a reflection on the historical, cultural and ecological tales around salt, a commodity that has shaped economies, traditions, and landscapes over time.

For the closing chapter, guests are invited to a wonderland called Flora-Fauna-Fantastique. Here, art, design and culinary delights converge in a scintillating Sunday champagne brunch at Firangi Superstar. The restaurant’s interior, an imagination of colonial India, sets the stage for a visual spectacle.

The world of the wild and wonderful is also brought to life through Matteo Cibic’s quirky, surreal glass creatures, and Spencer Hansen’s otherworldly figures fashioned from wood.

Look forward to exquisite “bottle botanicals” from Studio Wawi Navarroza, crafted using upcycled plastic together with the artist Benito Rosario, who will be present at the event.
