If you’ve been following The Sidemen on YouTube, SIDES, the fast-food brand founded by the group, has announced plans to expand into Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur is named among 4 upcoming international destinations.

The announcement was shared on SIDES’ official social media channels, alongside New Cairo in Egypt, Kuwait City in Kuwait, and Mumbai in India. However, the brand has yet to reveal when its first Malaysian outlet will open or where it will be located.

For the uninitiated, The Sidemen are a British YouTube collective formed in 2013. The group originally comprised 7 creators: KSI, Miniminter, Zerkaa, TBJZL, Behzinga, Vikkstar123, and W2S — known for their challenge videos, gaming content, comedy and collaborations. However, KSI announced his departure from the group in May 2026.

One of the group’s ventures beyond YouTube is SIDES, a fast-food brand with a menu centred on fried chicken. Expect chicken burgers, tenders and wings, alongside familiar sides such as waffle fries and milkshakes.

There are several chicken flavours to choose from, including Nashville, London Jerk and Mango Peri Peri. Those who enjoy their food on the spicier side might look forward to Nashville Insane, which features Carolina Reaper peppers. According to my Singapore colleagues, who have it very frequently, it’s a dish that’s meant to bring the heat.

SIDES already has outlets in the UK and Singapore, and its latest expansion plans will bring the brand to more international markets. For Malaysian fans who’ve been curious about trying its food, the announcement is certainly welcome news.

Whether the local outlet will carry the existing menu or introduce flavours catering to Malaysian tastes remains to be seen. For now, we’ll have to wait for SIDES by The Sidemen to share more details about its opening date and first outlet location in Malaysia.
