For those of you who haven’t heard of Toblerone, it’s a triangular-shaped Swiss milk chocolate bar with chunks of honeycomb and almonds scattered within all that chocolatey goodness.

I decided to check it out for you—mainly to let you know if it’s worth S$9.90. Right from the get-go, you can tell it’s a pretty reasonable size for its price.

A total of three layers, we had the chocolate biscuit base and fluffy cheesecake coated with Toblerone chocolate on top.

Because good things are meant to be shared, I split the cake with two dining partners to ensure there weren’t any leftovers. Personally, I loved every bite of the cake—from the creamy Toblerone layer to the crunchy chocolate cookies at the bottom. For a ready-to-eat cake sold in supermarkets, this definitely hit the spot.

One of my dining partners noted that the cheesecake was a bit too sour for her (possibly due to the cream cheese), although I found it perfectly normal.

Growing up eating ready-to-eat cakes like Sara Lee, I felt that the Toblerone Cheesecake just implemented an innovative addition with chocolate as a top layer to the mundane ready-to-eat cheesecakes. Quality-wise, I would say it was well-made, though not fantastic.

A perfect dessert to dive into after a long day of work, the Toblerone Cheesecake serves as a good and affordable sweet treat to savour in Singapore’s hot and humid weather.

If you’re interested in trying this cake, hurry down to one of the Sheng Siong outlets before they sell out—these gems are only retailing at S$9.90 till 31 March 2020, while stocks last!

Dates & Times: Now available until 31 March 2020

Price: S$9.90 per box
