Well, recently, there have been videos of a matchmaking restaurant on TikTok. The matchmaking restaurant trend started in China and it allows singles to meet their potential soulmate over a meal.
Recently, a restaurant in Johor Bahru has implemented the same idea. Xing Fu Xiao Guo 幸福小锅 follows the concept of allowing single diners to ‘match’ with other single diners who are sitting across from them.
Imagine Tinder, except you don’t know what your date looks like. This takes blind-dating to a whole new level!
Individuals will be assigned to a single booth, with a divider separating you from the table opposite which your potential date sits at.
There is a button at the side of the panel where customers can press to reveal their ‘date’. You can share your meal with the person sitting opposite you if you don’t mind.
They offer a few soup bases including Pig Bone Soup, White Pepper Soup, Satay Laksa Soup, Tomato Soup and Golden Melon Soup. Their specialities are the White Pepper Soup and Satay Laksa Soup due to the health benefits that can be found in the soup.
While the White Pepper Soup is known to cure indigestion and also acts as a detox, the Satay Laksa Soup, on the other hand, is filled with the aroma of spicy laksa spice and coconut paste, with matching satay sauce.
If you’re ever feeling lonely, or simply just need some company while having a meal, Xing Fu Xiao Guo 幸福小锅 could be your new favourite go-to. Who knows? Maybe you might meet The One.
