Yummy Tummy Bakes was a home-based business known for their unique curry-filled buns that are called ‘curry bombs’. Despite being pretty new— they’re slightly over a month ago— they’ve just moved to their first take-away kiosk that’s located at NEWest Mall. For this upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, they have launched a Taiwanese-style mooncake called 3Q mooncakes.

Coated with a layer of black and white sesame seeds on top, these flaky-style mooncakes contain a unique mix of fillings which include pork floss, red bean paste, mochi and salted egg— what an interesting combination!

In addition, they will also be selling last year’s flaky skin mooncakes.

They’re only sold in a Box Of Six (S$88) featuring four flaky skin mooncakes (green tea with azuki bean, red bean paste with orange peel, white lotus with yolk and yam paste with yolk) together with two pieces of 3Q mooncakes.

These mooncakes will be available at their store from 16 August 2022 onwards.

For those who have not heard of their curry bombs, let me give you a little insight. As opposed to the typical generic curry chicken buns sold elsewhere, you’re allowed to customise your very own curry bomb.

They have four different kinds of curry fillings— Curry Chicken (S$28 per bomb), Curry Mutton (S$32 per bomb, only available on Saturdays), Mixed Vegetable Curry (S$23 per bomb) and Japanese Chicken Curry Bomb (S$29 per bomb, kid friendly).

Besides the fillings, you can even choose the flavour of the bun!

The choices are Soft Fluffy Plain Bun, Soft Fluffy Curry Bun, Soft Fluffy Wholemeal Bun (+S$2), Cheddar Cheese Coated with Parmesan Cheese (+S$4), Mozzarella + Cheddar Cheese Coated With Parmesan Cheese (+S$4) and Crispy Bolo Bun (+S$8). My stomach is rumbling while describing all that.
