Dining On Cloud 9

The festive season entails lots of celebratory dinners and huge feasts with family and friends. But let’s not forget one of the very special people in your life — your partner.

How else to impress them amidst all the grand buffets and fancy dinner options? Take them to the skies at Dining On Cloud 9, of course!

Enclosed in an intimate setting within a cable car, the novel dining concept will take couples on a 1.5-hour session (three rounds) where they will get to enjoy a 4-Course Festive Set Menu ($298++) that overlooks the Harbourfront and Sentosa area.

This promotion will run from 1 to 30 December 2017, from 6pm – 8.30pm and comes with a welcome drink (mocktail or champagne) as well as two glasses of house wine and a box of chocolates.

Dining On Cloud 9 4 Edit

For the first course, you’ll get Smoked Breast With Portobello Mushroom, which has earthy tones to it. This is sure to whet your appetite, as you take in the setting sun with your loved one. The duck breast was juicy and fatty, making it a very satisfying appetiser.

During our session, we only had three courses each, but do note that there is a Veloute Of Butternut Pumpkin And Prawns included in the full menu. We were then served mains, in which I chose the Pan-seared Barramundi Fillet With Tobiko.

The fish was flaky and very meaty, although I failed to detect much flavour from the tobiko itself. I also wished the mashed potatoes were creamier, as they had quite a stiff texture.

My dining partner had the Pan-roasted Aromatic Turkey, which came in a very generous portion. I do have to mention, that although it boasted plenty of flavours, it was dry and quite a task to cut.

I will, however, have to reason that it is a logistical game to figure out how to serve diners their food, given that the dining venue is constantly in rotation.

To end off the evening, we had Coconut Deguise Mille Feuille & Mango Apricot Compote which was light and aromatic. The coconut shavings really complemented the chocolate well, and there were plenty of contrasting textures.

Admittedly, this was the best course of the evening, along with the breathtaking dusk that presented itself to us.

Set your dating goals higher with this amazingly breathtaking view of Singapore while you and your honey spend some much-deserved quality time together. Although the food may not have been the stars of the show, the view makes it all worth it.

Expected damage: $298++ per couple
