Know a Singaporean stuck in London? Send them some Old Chang Kee London love. There’s no place like home (truly), and we know many overseas Singaporeans flocked home to be with family before the COVID-19 pandemic took hold on a global scale. Not everyone was able to make the journey though, and many Singaporeans are braving severe lockdowns and uncertainty overseas.

One of Singapore’s most well-loved brands Old Chang Kee is helping to beat lockdown blues for overseas Singaporeans. Well, in London at least, where it has two stores which were shut down in March due to the worsening situation in the UK. While regular operations are on hold, they’ve switched up to deliver frozen curry puffs and Singaporean curries around London.

Customers order online and the food arrives already frozen and in freezer-friendly packaging. Reheating instructions are provided so they simply have to warm up the puffs and curries for a convenient meal. Think of it as a care package; a comforting taste of Singapore in trying times!

To make the package a little sweeter (or spicier?), they’re now offering Sethlui.com readers in Singapore an exclusive 10% discount if you’d like to make an order for friends and family in London. Just use the coupon code ‘OCKSETH’ in your shopping basket on their website, and the discount will be applied at checkout.

“Since we started this initiative last month, we’ve been sending food to all kinds of customers around London,” says Sandra Leong, director of Old Chang Kee UK. “But when we heard specifically from Singaporeans about how our food has brightened their day, so we thought it’d be a good idea if friends and family in Singapore could order food as a way of sending them some love from Singapore!”

Do take note that delivery is within London only and more details can be found on Old Chang Kee UK’s website! Delivery fee is £5 with no minimum order for deliveries within a five-mile radius of Old Chang Kee’s stores; for deliveries outside of this radius, the fee is still £5 but with a minimum order of £60. This exclusive coupon code will be valid till 31 May 2020 and each coupon code can be used by each customer five times, so you can go all-out to treat your friends in London.

Although £2.95 (approx. S$5) for a curry puff may seem quite hefty, the prices are very reasonable by London standards and I’m sure your homesick buddies wouldn’t hesitate to spend that money on you if you were in their shoes and craving a taste of Singaporean food!

Dates & Times: Coupon code is valid now till 31 May 2020, used up to five times

Price: Starts at £2.80 for a frozen curry puff and £10.50 for a frozen curry that feeds two
